Emma Willis has revealed what could sway her into agreeing to take part in Strictly Come Dancing amid rumours that she may compete on the 2021 BBC series.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Channel 4 reality programme The Circle, which Emma hosted, had been axed.

Following The Circle’s cancellation, some have suspected that Emma, who also presents The Voice, could now have the time to don her dancing shoes for Strictly this year.

Having previously said that she would do Strictly ‘in a heartbeat’ if she had time, on Tuesday’s edition of This Morning, the Cooking With The Stars host told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford the one thing that she would need to do to help make up her mind whether to commit to the show.

‘When you say you’d love to do Strictly, people normally say they’d love to do Strictly because either they just love the show or they know they can dance,’ Ruth said.

‘I can’t dance, and I think I would have to have a dance lesson to see if I wanted to humiliate myself that much before I ever signed up to it,’ Emma replied, smiling.

Emma explained that while every year she says she would ‘love to do’ Strictly, it always takes place at the end of the year which is ‘always when I’m really busy’.

While she’s evidently keen to possibly give it a go, she admitted that the idea of ‘walking down those stairs’ to the dancefloor ‘fills me with horror’.

Emma admitted that she wasn’t sure if she would ‘physically be able to do it’, as her ‘legs go to jelly just imagining it’.

However, Ruth, who competed on Strictly in 2017 and was partnered with Anton Du Beke, reckoned that Emma would be able to take on the challenge.

‘I think you would, and it’s part of the challenge really, isn’t it,’ Ruth said.

Emma is currently hosting a new ITV series called Cooking With The Stars alongside comedian Tom Allen.

The celebrity competitors include performer Denise Van Outen, Strictly judge Shirley Ballas and McFly musician Harry Judd, who suffered a gruesome injury just minutes into the show.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
