Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer wants to keep her options open when it comes to her love life and will be avoiding dancers in future.

The star appeared alongside ex-husband Kevin Clifton on the BBC series, and the pair were married for three years before they decided to separate in 2018.

She then went on to date opera singer David Webb for two years, however they are said to have ‘quietly split’ in September 2020.

The dancer confessed that she ‘loves’ being in relationships, despite how they ended.

She explained on Tuesday’s Loose Women: ‘I think it’s a beautiful thing. I think being in love is beautiful.

‘Regardless of my previous relationships and how they ended or what has happened, I feel that it’s nice to feel loved and to love. I’ve learned a lot, I’ve matured a lot throughout the years.’

Asked by panelist Coleen Nolan whether she would date within her professional field again Karen was adamant that it was a no-go area.

‘No dancers, goodnight, bye! No more dancers,’ she said, laughing.

‘I hope they don’t dance, none of them.’

Jane Moore added: ‘If you’re married to someone in exactly the same profession it can probably be quite tough.’

Karen said: ‘It can go either way it depends, but I’d like to try a different flavour!’

She has previously confessed in the past that she wanted to fight for her marriage to Kevin.

Chatting to Samantha Baines on The Divorce Club podcast, the 38-year-old said: ‘Obviously, other things happen, there are other factors that happened, that really hurt us both.

‘But I thought… I would have never let go of it. I wouldn’t have never, never let go of it.

‘I would have liked to have fought for it. It took me a year after we separated to actually let go of him.’

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
