WWE Raw results, grades: Bobby Lashley destroys MVP’s VIP Lounge in rage after shock loss

The last ever Raw in the WWE ThunderDome came to an explosive end as Bobby Lashley sent a message to Kofi Kingston.

The All Mighty defends his WWE Title against the New Day man on Sunday (July 18) at Money In The Bank, and he looked to be back to his focused best as the show went off the air hours after he lost to Xavier Woods.

The night kicked off in a big way as the red brand skipped its typical promo segment introduction in favour of in-ring action, with Lashley taking on Kofi’s tag team partner in singles action.

Just like their recent Hell In A Cell match, these two put on a great match, showcasing the champ’s power and Xavier’s skills, which have been given a greater spotlight in recent weeks.

The clash even ended with a genuine upset, as Woods took advantage of Lashley’s hesitation after a spear.

The latter’s decision to go for the Hurt Lock rather than a pin was enough for his opponent to hit an inside cradle.

Lashley left the venue, and MVP insisted there was no problem as he promised his Hurt Business associate would be back in time for the VIP Lounge later in the night.

In the main event segment, MVP and Lashley’s ladies tried to get him to join them, and he eventually came out looking less than impressed.

He told the women to leave, and absolutely blasted his friend, insisted Kofi Kingston is right about his getting soft, and he described his loss to Xavier as a major wakeup call.

He said it’s time to cut the ‘bulls**t’ and get back to business, ditching the ladies and partying in favour of destruction.

He totally trashed the VIP Lounge set, before vowing to destroy Kingston and end his opponent’s career on Sunday.

Nikki A.S.H. wins, Drew McIntyre outsmarts Jinder Mahal and Sheamus destroys Humberto Carrillo

Jinder Mahal – flanked by Veer and Shanky – claimed he had an apology for Drew McIntyre, and wanted to return the stolen sword.

The Scotsman called his former 3MB teammate a liar as he appeared on the titan tron backstage, before the Maharaja admitted he’d actually snapped the sword in too – but his rival revealed it was a replica.

He still had the real sword, and then trashed Mahal’s motorbike, booting it over before leaving.

In a Money In The Bank preview, Nikki A.S.H. picked up some momentum heading into Sunday’s ladder match as she pinned Asuka in a Fatal Four Way also involving Naomi and Alexa Bliss.

The latter disappeared under mysterious circumstances, after Eva Maria and Doudrop got involved following an exchange in Alexa’s Playground earlier on, and the former Piper Niven dumped her over the barricade – but then Bliss was nowhere to be seen.

AJ Styles and the Viking Raiders had something to say, before two matches hyping their tag team title clash this weekend, with Ivar winning a fun match against the Phenomenal One before Omos got a dominating victory over Erik.

Domination was the name of the game for Sheamus too, as he destroyed Humberto Carrillo backstage before their United States Title match.

He struggled to his feet, with the Celtic Warrior – still wearing a protective mask after breaking his nose – hitting a Brogue Kick for a very quick win before Damian Priest saved Carrillo from the post-match attack.

In a match of the night effort, Ricochet overcame John Morrison in a fantastic Falls Count Anywhere Match.

There were plenty of highlight reel moments – including a stunning 450 Splash from the barricade – and Riddle (who was his usual comedic self backstage throughout the show) would come out to make sure The Miz couldn’t play a role in the ending.

In another strong match, Rhea Ripley defeated Natalya in a physical and entertaining match showcasing the latter’s importance to the women’s division.

Charlotte Flair attacked after the bell, added a bit more intensity to this weekend’s title match.
