We all need to take a leaf out of The GC’s book when it comes to feeling confident.

From ‘you ain’t ever gonna get this candy’ to ‘I’ve earned my divaship’, the former Towie star is constantly doling out pearls of wisdom, and she may have just delivered her best yet.

Gemma Collins knows that everybody is beautiful in their own way, and also knows that she is gorgeous based on how good-looking her previous boyfriends have been.

The 40-year-old got decked out in Valentino for a shoot with Polyester zine, rocking bouffant hair, winged eyeliner, a bold lip and plenty of designer accessories.

Speaking about how she reminds herself of her beauty, Gemma said: ‘I know I’m beautiful, because I’ve never had an ugly boyfriend.’

Iconic.

In the past, Gemma has dated James ‘Arg’ Argent, Charlie King, Sebastian Marc Graham, Stephen Mortimer and Laurence Hearn, and is back with her former fiance Rami Hawash.

But she doesn’t need a man to give her self-confidence, as she knows it’s a personality that makes somebody beautiful.

She told the zine: ‘Society has drilled into us that the only way you can be beautiful is by being slim and having a certain look, and that’s not true.

‘Everybody’s beautiful in their own way, and there is an anxiety in people’s minds that if they don’t look that way, they will not be allowed in society, and that’s just not acceptable. Everyone has the right to feel beautiful.’

As a plus-sized women in the public eye, Gemma has received her fair share of trolling, but added that she feels sorry for trolls, and that she isn’t affected by their hate.

Gemma has appeared on pretty much every reality TV show going, from Towie and Celebrity Big Brother, to Dancing On Ice and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, but her next TV appearance will be much more serious.

The Essex girl has teamed up with Channel 4 for a documentary on self-harm, and will discuss her own experiences of self-harm in the hopes of helping others who are struggling.

Channel 4’s Commissioning Editor Lee Murray added: ‘Gemma Collins has taken the brave decision to open up about her own experience with self-harm.

‘As an instantly recognisable and relatable figure we applaud her courage in revealing her own struggles, and hope this film and her insight will spark vitally important conversations around young people and self-harm.’

The charity Mind added: ‘Our research at Mind has also shown that when people in the public eye speak about their mental health, it encourages others to do the same – as many as one in five people have spoken to a loved one as a direct result of seeing a celebrity speak out.

‘This demonstrates how vital it is that people in the public eye continue to speak honestly about their mental health experiences, including coping mechanisms like self-harm.

‘Mind is working with Channel 4 to ensure the issues covered are handled sensitively and portrayed accurately.’
