Olivia Rodrigo is putting her platform to use as she has teamed up with President Joe Biden to encourage young people in America to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

The pop star, 18, was seen arriving at the West Wing of the White House on Wednesday, where she attended a press briefing.

She told waiting journalists: ‘I am beyond honoured and humbled to be here today to help spread the message about the importance of youth vaccination.’

The Drivers License singer met with President Biden and his chief Covid-19 medical adviser Dr Anthony Fauci to record videos to encourage other young people to take up the vaccine when it is offered.

Currently, youth vaccination rates have been lagging behind he general American population, so the singer is using her following to encourage others to get vaccinated to help end the coronavirus pandemic.

She added: ‘I’m in awe of the work President Biden and Dr. Fauci have done and was happy to help lend my support to this important initiative.

‘It’s important to have conversations with friends and family members encouraging all communities to get vaccinated, and actually get to a vaccination site, which you can do more easily than ever before, given how many sites we have and how easy it is to find them.’

Olivia, who has over 28million followers across her social media channels, rocked a pink and black checked co-ord jacket and skirt as well as black socks and white platform heels for her visit to the White House.

She is set to record videos answering questions young people have about the vaccine and of the importance of getting vaccinated.
