LeBron James is probably the best player in the NBA right now. While many players regress at the age of 36, LBJ has defied all of it and is still at the top of the game. He might not be in the Finals this season, but he is often a mainstay at the biggest stage of them all.

While he is away from the game, LBJ unlike many others superstars in the league, has emerged as one of the biggest voices. Be it showing up in his son’s high school games, or attending charitable events, James can be seen everywhere.

LeBron James speaks about him being a philanthropist

Given the immense popularity LeBron has, he is the fulcrum of many advertisements and movies. But ‘King James‘ certainly does not forget his community. Be it speaking out on social issues or helping the underprivileged, Bron is one of the most active members in his community.

In a recent appearance at the Smartless podcast, the Lakers’ forward revealed why he is so involved in the community. “I think for me that the drive comes from my upbringing, and, you know, growing up the way I grew up.”

LBJ added, “I felt if I’ve ever was even put into a position… and succeed at doing anything, and I can make any kind of dollars anything as far as capital that I want to give a lot of it back.”

The Lakers’ forward also has had built many schools called the ‘I Promise Schools‘ which cater to underprivileged kids who cannot afford formal education. The 4-time MVP later spoke why he is so connected to the kids and the community.

“I want to give, you know, a lot of back to my community, because I understand what those kids are going through on a day-to-day basis because I’ve walked those same streets have tackled those same corners.”

The legend of LeBron James is just getting started. He might have dominated the court for 18 years now, he still has some years left in his tank. Meanwhile, he has built an incredible reputation for standing up for people and given his demeanor, the L-Train won’t stop.
