Sam Thompson has officially outdone himself with his latest prank on girlfriend Zara McDermott.

The Made In Chelsea star blessed us all with a video as he played a practical joke on the Love Island star, as they lay in bed together.

In the clip shared on his Instagram page, the 28-year-old could be seen quietly donning a very creepy looking mask before getting very close to his sleeping girlfriend, and prodding her awake.

Shocked at the sight of the world’s creepiest face lying next to her, she let out a scream as her beau celebrated another successful prank beside her.

‘Went better than I’d hoped tbh @zara_mcdermott there may have been tears after this,’ he captioned the video.

Absolutely not an ideal wake-up call, to be fair to Zara.

Sharing the post on her own page, the model, 24, penned: ‘I honestly nearly had a heart attack and cried’.

Fans were unsurprisingly loving the scenes, flooding Sam’s comments with cry-laughing emoji and tagging others who they might be pulling similar jokes on.

The star was recently forced to defend one of his social media videos, after he mocked a scene from Made In Chelsea showing the moment the couple briefly split.

Their relationship hit a rough patch last year, with the fallout airing on the E4 reality show.

Making light of one scene in particular, which saw Zara breaking down in a park, he uploaded – and very quickly deleted – a TikTok video where he added the audio of their split to footage of him with a Nandos.

As you do.

After the clip was met with backlash, Sam shared an explanation on his Instagram page, vowing he got Zara’s permission to post it beforehand.

‘I’d just like to address the video I took down last night I found it quite funny I think 99.9% of you guys found it quite funny,’ he said.

‘But to the 0.1% I’d just like to say I did have Zara’s full permission to post that, I showed it to her prior and she understood the context of it.

‘She understood it was actually me taking the p**s out of myself and the fact Made In Chelsea has literally been there for every high and every low of my entire life – and how mad it is you can take a clip like that and put your own spin on it, it’s trending on TikTok, someone else has done it and I find it hilarious and slightly terrifying.’

‘But she was on board with it, she understood it, I would never post anything without running it by her, regardless of the fact that we’re not together,’ he concluded.

‘It was in no way meant to be revenge or anything like that, and she got that. Maybe in a few months, I’ll post it again and the humour can be seen by all.’
