British Grand Prix F1 Practice Schedule: Where to Watch, Timings, Live Stream & Weather Forecast

The much-awaited F1 race weekend at Silverstone is all set to begin in a few hours’ time, with a sprint race coming into play for the first time. That’s not it, this weekend will also witness a busy Silverstone circuit, all thanks to Formula 2 and W-Series that will also be hosting their race alongside F1.

Hence, as expected, there have been massive changes to the schedule this weekend, and F1 fans might want to take a look at when and where they could view the practice sessions.

When will the F1 practice sessions take place?

With F1 scrapping off FP3 from the British Grand Prix, drivers will have the least possible running. Hence, most of the teams will look to squeeze their simulation runs within the 120 minute-worth sessions.

So, when will FP1 take place? Well, F1 will flag off its first session of the weekend on Friday at 7:00 PM BST. Western continents can catch a glimpse of the action at 2:00 PM ET.

Unlike the past, FP2 will not be taking place on Friday, and rather is pushed to Saturday afternoon for the British viewers. The action will start at 4:30 PM BST, while American viewers can witness the session at 11:30 AM ET.

Where can viewers view the F1 sessions?

As always, Sky Sports and Channel 4 hold broadcasting rights around the United Kingdom and ESPN for the United States.

Dutch fans will be able to view the action through Ziggo, while France and Germany through Canal+ and RTL, respectively. Meanwhile, the Tifosi’s broadcasting rights are held by Sky Italia, with Spain falling under F1 DAZN and Portugal falling under Eleven Sports.

Finally, Most of Asia can view the F1 action through Fox Sports, with India being an exception, as the South-Asian country’s broadcasting rights are held by Star Sports.

How is the weather looking during practice sessions?

Over the past couple of races, rains teased throughout the weekend, but never really showed up when the F1 fans desperately needed them. However, this weekend seems a bit straightforward, with predictions showing least to nil possibilities of rain over Friday and Saturday.

The only difference will be with respect to the temperature. Friday is likely to be considerably cooler compared to Saturday, with winds, too, remaining quite pleasant throughout the weekend.

Hence, with no external factors likely to ramp up the excitement over any of the sessions, will the drivers showcase the much-needed on-track action at the British Grand Prix? Will we get to witness another Lewis Hamilton – Max Verstappen duel this weekend?
