UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs Moises- Khalid Taha vs Sergey Morozov: Prediction and Analysis

Khalid Taha takes on Sergey Morozov in an exciting bantamweight clash at UFC Vegas 31. A lightweight clash between Islam Makhachev and Thiago Moises will headline the card. The promotion returns to action at the UFC Apex after an extremely successful event at the T-Mobile Arena with UFC 264.

The bantamweight division is stacked with some incredible talent. Both Taha and Morozov are currently unranked at 135-pounds and will be aiming to take a step towards a ranking with a win this weekend.

Ahead of the bout, we take a closer look at the strengths and weaknesses of both men involved in the fight and map out a possible route for victory.

Khalid Taha vs Sergey Morozov in the bantamweight division will be an exciting fight at UFC Vegas 31

Khalid Taha made his UFC debut in July 2018. Taha has fought four times in the UFC thus far and has one win, two losses, and one no-contest. In his most recent outing, he succumbed to a decision loss against Raoni Barcelos in November 2020. He will be aiming to get back into the win column this weekend against a relatively inexperienced fighter in Morozov.

Morozov did not have the start to his UFC career that he would have hoped for. The Kazakhstani succumbed to a loss against Umar Nurmagomedov in January this year. He will be aiming to get back into the win column and establish himself in the UFC with a win over Taha.

The Warrior’ is a heavy hitter and has secured an impressive 69% of his wins via T/KO. He has landed an impressive 2.13 significant strikes per minute in the UFC thus far. However, he absorbs a concerning 3 significant strikes per minute which could be his downfall against Morozov.

Morozov on the other hand has landed 0.81 significant strikes per minute while absorbing 2.89 in return. These figures, however, are not an accurate representation of his skill set given he has fought only once in the UFC. Morozov will be aiming to prove himself with a much better display in his second fight with the promotion.

Prediction:- Sergey Morozov via decision
