However, 2020 Roland Garros champion Iga Swiatek is not one of them. The Polish player is looking forward to creating history with a successful campaign in her national colors.
Swiatek joins the likes of Wimbledon 2021 winner Ashleigh Barty, former World No.1 Naomi Osaka, Belarus’ powerhouse Aryna Sabalenka and USA’s teenage sensation Coco Gauff in the women’s draw. This will be Swiatek’s first Olympic Games appearance in her blooming career. The Polish superstar has made her presence felt on the WTA Tour very early at the age of 20, and has a long way ahead of her.

Iga will aim to enter the history books by claiming gold in her maiden Olympics campaign. After the series of withdrawals, Swiatek is now one of the favorites to take home a medal. She already has multiple titles to her name but has made it clear that the Olympics are on her checklist.

The World No.8 has hardly gotten the opportunity to play for her country. Swiatek has previously won the Rome Open, Adelaide Championships, and the French Open in 2020. She was dominant in all three title wins and continues to be a thunderous weapon on the court.
