Ubisoft Further Delays the Release Dates For Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic

The end of 2021 was looking extremely lucrative for Ubisoft. With two massively hyped games that were set to release, the developer showcased its plans at E3 2021’s gaming extravaganza. However, it seems like things have not gone to plan for Ubisoft as it recently released a statement unveiling that the release dates for Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic have been pushed back.

Rainbow Six Extraction will experience a major delay releasing four months later than expected in January 2022. For Riders Republic the delay is not as severe. Its release has been pushed from its original September 2 date to October 28.

“The goal with the decision to delay both of these games is to give more opportunities for players to test, play firsthand and give feedback to ensure we are bringing the best experiences to market and allow them to reach their full potential,” Ubisoft said in their statement.

They further added that “We believe the new release schedules will allow us to achieve that goal. This is the right decision for our players and for the long-term performance of our games.”

Ubisoft delays the release of Riders Republic for the second time this year

Riders Republic is essentially a multiplayer game featuring the most extreme sports. At the recent Ubisoft Forward held during E3, the developer unveiled an exclusive trailer for Riders Republic. The trailer showcased five main activities available in the game including mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, wingsuit flying, and rocket wingsuiting. According to developer Ubisoft, it is set to be a “massively multiplayer sports game.”

Ubisoft was initially going to release the extreme sports game earlier this February. However, the developers delayed its release as they wanted to ‘fine tune’ the gaming experience. Initially, it was understandable due to the variety of different sports that it covers. The recent delay was very unexpected because Ubisoft has already opened registrations for the game’s upcoming beta. Do you see either of these games being delayed any further?
