Love Island 2021: Love Island’s Danny Bibby riled as Aaron Francis tries to kiss Lucinda Strafford

Love Island’s Danny Bibby was left fuming in scenes that aired tonight after Aaron Francis tried to kiss Lucinda Strafford as he sat just a few meters away.

Aaron caught up with Lucinda moments after the recoupling, which saw Sharon Gaffka dumped, in an attempt to woo her as she was picked to be Danny’s partner.

The luxury events host didn’t waste any time in laying it on thick and said he wouldn’t mind giving the online fashion boutique owner a kiss, even though Danny was in eyeshot.

Aaron then leant in for a snog, but Lucinda swerved the kiss in the most awkward scenes.

Danny saw the whole thing unfold, and after Lucinda told him exactly what happened, he went and pulled Aaron for a chat to call him out.

‘Lad, it’s my first night here, I’ve just recoupled with her and then you try and smack lips with her,’ he fumed.

‘You just look like a mug,’ Danny added before saying: ‘Do you not think I deserve a bit of respect?’

He went on to add that if it was the other way around, he wouldn’t have put Aaron in that position.

‘I deserve some respect,’ Danny continued, with Aaron eventually saying sorry for his actions.

The tense scenes comes as Danny apologised after he used a racial slur on social media.

The 25-year-old plumber and clothing brand owner, from Wigan, used the n-word in a post on Instagram in 2019 that has since been deleted.

His statement came after his father Richard defended him earlier on Friday, saying there were ‘no racist intentions to this post’ and that it had been a ‘mistake’ on his son’s part.

A statement from Danny, issued via ITV, said: ‘I’d like to take the time to apologise to anyone that may have taken offence to my inappropriate remark.

‘I never meant anything malicious by this comment at all. I am not a racist person and it’s unacceptable language and ignorant.

‘I meant no offence and feel like I have really learnt from my mistakes and will never use that word again.

‘I am a kind loving person and hopefully you get to see that in the show.’

Love Island continues on Monday at 9pm on ITV2.
