It’s Freedom Day, and for many that means live music and entertainment are poised for a triumphant return after a difficult time during the pandemic.
Lockdown measures meant plenty of huge festivals and tours were cancelled over the past 16 months, with many artists turning to live streams as an alternative.
Of course, there’s nothing like being in an actual venue with real people and a genuine connection from everyone involved.
With restrictions lifted across England today (July 19), that means venues will be able to open without having to limit attendance, implement social distancing or move outdoors as many have done more recently.
Just in time for the glorious summer months, live music, comedy and festivals are returning with to venues of all sizes up and down the country.
Sometimes, there’s nothing better than discovering a new unsigned band or comedian at a local bar, and there are plenty of acts hitting the road at independent venues in need of support, while some of the biggest names in music and comedy are heading out on tour.
