Emma Bunton opened up about the special moment with Jade Jones at the altar on their wedding day as they got married after more than 20 years together.

The couple – who are parents to sons Tate, 10, and Beau, 13 – have been a couple since 1998 and got engaged in 2006.

The 45-year-old surprised fans and the rest of the Spice Girls alike last week when she shared beautiful pictures from their secret wedding ceremony, which she described as ‘perfect’.

Sharing more intimate details from their low-key big day during her Heart Radio show on Sunday night, the singer thanked fans for their well wishes.

Emma, also known as Baby Spice, revealed: ‘Firstly I would like to say a massive, massive thank you for all of your lovely messages and congratulations because yes! I did it! I finally walked down the aisle and married Mr Jade Jones.

‘It’s been a long time coming…23 years actually, but we had the most perfect day, we didn’t take our eyes off each other, it was very romantic.

Only their sons and a couple of friends witnessed Emma marry 43-year-old Jade, from the boy band Damage, at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds after 23 years together.

Sharing pictures from their wedding on Instagram, the Maybe singer simply wrote in the caption: ‘Mr and Mrs Jones’.

Her band mates sent their congratulations as Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, replied: ‘Congratulations. Love u both so much!! X’

The pair applied for a marriage in 2019 but the day didn’t go ahead until last week.

Emma joked at the time: ‘It is the world’s longest engagement but if Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell can do it . . .  they’ve never married. One day, I know we would love a wedding and we want the kids to be there.’

Tune into Emma Bunton on Heart every Sunday 7-10pm.
