Lando Norris Rewrites McLaren’s History Books With Unique F1 Record at Silverstone

McLaren has a rich history of drivers that raced for their team. The likes of Ayrton Senna, James Hunt, and Alain Prost all drove for the Woking-based outfit. However, they don’t hold a record that Lando Norris has just achieved.

The 21-year-old has set a record for the most consecutive points scored for the team. Currently on bagging points in fifteen races; the young Brit is certainly hoping to score more and help the team in the constructor’s championship.

Norris enters the history book as he has shown consistency with points finishes

The McLaren driver had another points finish, he came fourth in the British Grand Prix- his home race. With a fourth-place being achieved and bagging twelve points, he became the only driver in the Woking-based team’s history to have back-to-back 15 points finishes.

Having some points finish last season, Norris to step up his game for 2021. And Indeed, he did as he remains the only driver this season to have points finish in every race so far. Hence, it is no surprise that the young Brit is making an impact in McLaren‘s history.

The Brit has picked up three podiums for the team this season

Norris has been helping the papaya team score crucial points for the championship this season. Furthermore, the 21-year-old has found himself on the top step thrice so far this year.

The first one being at the Emilia GP, where he had to fend off Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc to claim a third-place finish and seize fifteen points for the team. Later, he achieved a podium at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix beating Red Bull’s Sergio Perez for P3.

Lastly, It was at the Austrian Grand Prix, where just last year he scored his first-ever podium in Formula One. In 2021, the Brit had to keep this fellow countryman, Lewis Hamilton in his rear-view mirrors as he brought home yet another third-place finish for the team.

Norris has been improving on his pace at every Grand Prix this season and is hoping to take McLaren to next level and put on a fight for the title.
