“He’ll Walk Straight Through”- John Fury Backs Anthony Joshua to KO Oleksandr Usyk

John Fury had never really praised Anthony Joshua, considering that ‘AJ was touted to meet Tyson Fury in a much-anticipated title unification fight. However, the 57-year-old has backed Joshua to vanquish Oleksandr Usyk in his next title defense.

While the possible fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua fell off, ‘AJ’ went ahead to seal a clash against the undefeated Usyk. Although many people have favored the Ukrainian boxer to beat Joshua, Tyson Fury’s father threw in a different opinion.

Speaking with Boxing Social, John Fury said, “Usyk is good. He’s a world-class cruiserweight, proved it. But AJ is a big dude and he’s got a good array of boxing skills and he’s a big strong man. And I just think he’s all around too good for Usyk.

“Usyk won’t be able to hit hard enough to bother him because he’s too small. He’ll walk straight through. I think AJ will stop him quicker than anybody else. I think AJ will walk straight through him.”

Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk will collide with Joshua’s world titles at stake on September 9. The winner of the fight will also contend for a heavyweight unification matchup in the future. So, it will be an important fight for the entire division and not just the ‘AJ’ or Usyk.

Meanwhile, Oleksandr Usyk is a tricky southpaw, who beat Dereck Chisora last year. It was a hard-fought battle, but Usyk could get a grasp of the treacherous heavyweight boxing. While he might have learned a lot from that bout, it’s time for him to shine against Anthony Joshua. But will it be an easy night for him?

Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk- An Epic Battle

Despite the undefeated status and all the technical abilities, ‘AJ’ can bring a fatal fortune to Oleksandr Usyk. There’s no denying Anthony Joshua would be much deadlier than Dereck Chisora. Hence, Usyk might have to suffer the maiden pro defeat of his career.

Besides, the fight would hold equal importance in the Briton’s career. 24-1 as a pro, Joshua cannot afford to contract another loss in his record, that too at this crucial stage. So he will have to live up to this added pressure and overcome a challenge against Usyk.
