“I Just Want to Thank You” – Michael Cole Is Grateful to Pat McAfee for Revitalizing His Career in WWE

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee have been running the SmackDown commentary for a while now. In fact, they were present when John Cena made his electrifying comeback at Money in the Bank 2021.

Undoubtedly, it was a special moment for the WWE Universe. However, it was one of the top moments for Michael Cole. In fact, during an interview with Pat McAfee, Cole thanked him for breathing life back into his body.

“It was one of the top five moments in my career,” Michael Cole said. “I do want to say this is that you have completely revitalized my career. I’ve been doing this for almost 25 years now, and I’ve seen everything in WWE. You go through different partners over the years, and everybody I’ve worked with has been great. But you’re different than all those guys because you’re a true fan. You bring that enthusiasm to the product, and I realize I have to step up my game to keep up with what you’re doing from an enthusiastic standpoint, and it’s been a lot of fun for me. And I just want to thank you for breathing some life into this old body again.” H/t Sportskeeda

Michael Cole and Pat McAfee started working together from April 2021

When WWE released Samoa Joe from his WWE Raw contract, he left behind an empty seat at the Raw commentators table. To fill up that spot, WWE moved Corey Graves from SmackDown to Raw.

This move left an empty seat at SmackDown, and Pat McAfee made a glorious debut alongside Michael Cole as a commentator.

WWE and McAfee recorded a video together where the commentator spoke about his career, and how he wanted to try something new. Even Vince McMahon featured in that clip. The WWE Chairman added gravitas when he hired McAfee with a message during the same video.

The very night when he was a commentator on SmackDown, he was an absolute hit. Several Superstars and even Triple H congratulated him for his marvellous work as a commentator.

Pat McAfee thoroughly impressed the fans with his energy and the way he remained at par with Michael Cole during the entire night.
