Safaree Samuels couldn’t hide his shock when he was asked a sex question about his ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj seven years after their split.
The 40-year-old rapper, who is currently married but separated from model Erica Mena, sat down for a chat with Yung Joc at Streetz 94.5 Atlanta when he was asked to pick questions randomly from a hat.
He was then taken aback and couldn’t finish reading a question that asked if he ever ‘listened to Nicki Minaj’s songs while having sex’.
A stunned Safaree said: ‘What? Joc, who made this up?’ to which the host revealed: ‘The interns, our young producers.’
Joc then read the question out in full before exclaiming: ‘Oh my God, what the hell? That’s a good question though.’
However, Safaree refused to answer and said: ‘No, that’s not a good question. That woman is married with a brand new baby. God bless.’
Safaree and Nicki, 38, were in a solid relationship for 12 years after meeting before the Starships rapper became famous. During her rise to fame, Safaree is believed to have earned writing and producing credits on her albums.

They split in 2014 and Nicki went on to marry childhood friend Kenneth Petty, before welcoming their son in September 2020.
Safaree married Love & Hip Hop: New York star Erica in 2019 and she gave birth to their daughter, Safire Majesty, in February 2020.
However, their marriage hit a rough patch and Erica, 33, filed for divorce in May 2021. Their separation became even more complicated when it emerged that the model was pregnant with their second child, a baby boy named Legend Brian, who was born prematurely on June 28.
Legend was taken to NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) in hospital due to his early arrival but Safaree was criticised as he appeared to be partying in Jamaica while his son was in hospital.

Responding to the criticism of his parenting, Safaree told Joc: ‘As far as putting things on social media I’m really about to cut back on letting people see my kids on the internet.
‘I just feel there needs to be a barrier with that because a few weeks ago, “Oh, you’re a great father…”, then one week, two weeks later, “you’re a deadbeat”.
‘I see how y’all are. So now I’ma just keep it private.’
