World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is the man of the moment. Whenever he has stepped on the court in recent times, he seems flawless. There seem to be no glitches in the Serb’s game at the moment and he has arrived in Tokyo to represent his nation.

Besides competing in the singles category, Novak Djokovic has decided to compete in the mixed doubles event too. He will be partnering with Nina Stojanovic. She has had an impressive season in doubles so far and the pair could cause some chaos in the Japanese capital.

The 24-year-old player has won two doubles titles on the WTA Tour, and nine singles and 23 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. When she competed in the juniors, she reached three Grand Slam semifinals in doubles. The French Open, and Wimbledon Championships in 2013 followed by the Australian Open in 2014. When she became a professional tennis player, she made her debut in both singles and doubles on the WTA Tour in 2016.

Having Novak Djokovic in your team is a boon

Nonetheless, this will be her first appearance at the Olympics and it can’t get better than having the World No. 1 player in your team. Having a player like Djokovic in your team helps a player reduce the pressure of competing on such a big stage.

In the past, Novak has won the Bronze Medal at the Olympics in 2008. He lost to Rafael Nadal in the semifinal but went on to beat former American player James Blake. In the last edition, Djokovic lost in the opening round to Juan Martin del Potro.

Well, the Serbian pair have got all the tools to go the distance. We wish them all the best in making their country and its citizens proud.
