Brad Keselowski to Become Roush Fenway Racing’s Owner-Driver

The news has officially been confirmed that Brad Keselowski is the new owner-driver of Roush Fenway Racing. The 2012 Cup Series champion has been in the sport for a very long time. Much of his senior career has been spent with Team Penske, so it is pretty much the end of an era.

Keselowski has been in the Penske stable since 2010, not counting the final three races of the 2009 season. However, he only took over the wheel of the iconic #2 car in 2011. Now, the driver will be completing a decade in the car and in the outfit before seeking new pastures.

“I am thrilled to be able to share the news about this next venture with my fans, peers, and the industry,” Keselowski said. “This presents an opportunity to continue my on-track success with a strong team and a long-term commitment, but also dive into my passion of team ownership where I know I can be an asset to the future of the team. I am optimistic about what Jack, John and I can accomplish togetherespecially with a new era for our sport on the horizon . Our goal is to win races and compete for championships at NASCAR’s top level, and we plan to do just that.”

What lies ahead for Brad Keselowski?

In 2022, this new pasture is the Roush Fenway Racing team in the #6 car. This also means that Ryan Newman is out of a racing seat. Additionally, Keselowski is the new owner-driver of the Roush-Fenway outfit. Keselowski’s move is just one of a massive shuffle in the driver market that could also wave goodbye to Matt DiBenedetto.

The 37-year-old is aware that Roush Fenway is not exactly a team that can challenge for the Cup Series title. However, that is not stopping him from trying to set up a swan song with Team Penske. Additionally, he will be hoping that his successor, Austin Cindric lives up to his legacy and keeps up the good work.

Meanwhile, Brad Keselowski himself can help build up the RFR team. He is vastly experienced and can act as a wealth of information for the outfit.
