Kate Garraway was a little freaked out by Ben Shephard’s grisly scar after he underwent surgery on his leg.
The presenter is still recovering after he suffered a nasty fall while playing football, rupturing his ACL and tearing his meniscus. Currently he presents Good Morning Britain with his leg propped up on a stool.
On Wednesday’s episode Kate joked that Ben had been telling anyone who will listen about his leg all week after he made his return on Monday.
She said: ‘I’ve now seen the scars. You’ve been banging on about it all week!’
‘She’s talking about my knee,’ Ben added.
Kate went on: ‘I’m talking about his knee…and on social media. He came in in shorts today and I’ve gotta say, it’s impressive and horrible.’

Giving an update Ben shared: ‘Yeah I’ll spare you at breakfast, but I have taken the strappings off, they were still on there.’
He went on to tell viewers about his rehab, confessing he was in more pain during physio than when he injured his leg in the first place.
‘The physio hurts way more than the injury. I’m having to try and get the flex and the bend through the knee.
‘It’s agony just trying to get to that point. It’s about trying to get extension through the knee. It’s much more painful than the injury itself.’

Explaining what exactly had happened to him in an earlier episode, Ben said: ‘A few weeks ago, you may remember I played in the cup final of the Arthur Dunn Veteran’s Cup, my old boys’ team.
‘Without realising, I have ruptured my ACL, I’ve torn my meniscus, and I’ve fractured part of my leg as well.’

‘Interestingly, I didn’t realise I had done it quite so badly,’ the T4 star continued. ‘I carried on playing for about 25 minutes before I thought, “Do you know what, it feels a little bit unstable.”
‘It turns out, I’d severed all the nerves which is why I couldn’t feel any pain and just carried on playing.’
He quipped: ‘The sad thing is it didn’t effect my standard of football.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
