Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo Makes NBA Finals History With Unbelievable Numbers in Game 6 Win vs Phoenix Suns

The Milwaukee Bucks took on the Phoenix Suns in game 6 of the NBA Finals tonight. With the Bucks leading the series 3-2, this game was crucial for both the teams. A win for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks would secure them a championship while a win for Chris Paul and the Suns would force a game 7.

The game got off to a fantastic start as the hosts took a 13-point lead with a 29-16 scoreline. But Chris Paul and Co. didn’t back down and made a massive comeback in the second quarter. With a scoreline of 47-42, the Suns took the lead.

But Giannis and Co. certainly never backed down from the game. The ‘Greek Freak’ took control as he scored multiple crucial field goals and even was uncharacteristically fantastic from the free throw line.

With Giannis firing in all cylinders and Khris Middleton taking control in the final minutes of the game, the Bucks ultimately completed the comeback and won their first NBA championship with a 105-98 win in game 6.

Giannis Antetokounmpo puts monstrous numbers in NBA Finals

2-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo has had his doubters over the years. Especially given his unimpressive playoffs record, the 26-year-old was never seen as a top post-season performer,

But it seems that the ‘Greek Freak’ heard all of his doubters and was all in for the Finals series against the Suns. Apart from a game 1 where he was coming back from an injury, Giannis took control of the series against the Suns.

Be it is incredible scoring or his defensive ability, Antetokounmpo put on a show. But he saved his ultimate performance for the close out game against the Suns. Scoring a whooping 50 points along with 14 rebounds, 5 blocks and 2 assists, Antetokounmpo was on a class of his own.

Giannis also became the first player in Finals history ever to have a 50 point, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks game. Not only that, the 2-time MVP had an incredible Finals series against the Suns and put up historic numbers.

We’ve just witnessed something we’ve never seen before in NBA Finals history.

1.2 SPG
1.8 BPG
61.8 FG%

In the six games the ‘Greek Freak‘ played against Phoenix, Giannis averaged a mind-boggling 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, 5 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.2 steals per game shooting 61.8% from the field. With this historic stat line, Antetokounmpo became the first player in Finals history to average 30/10/5 and shooting more than 60% from the field.

Giannis’ numbers certainly speak for themselves. This legendary performance will silence all the Greek Freak’s doubters who has proved yet again, that he indeed is one of the best in the game.
