Oscar Valdez’s Title Defense Fight: Date and Opponent Revealed

Oscar Valdez is one of the top-notch emerging sensations on the super-featherweight roster. In no time, he’s put on some blistering performances to catch every boxing lover’s eye. Valdez, who is still young, is showing a lot of promise to become one absolute legend of this weight class.

That said, in his last fight, the Mexican boxing star battered the veteran, Miguel Berchelt, to win the WBC super-featherweight strap. This was his very first belt at this weight class. With the win, he put himself in a position to contend with some highly skilled technicians.

Valdez is now aligned for his first prime title defense at this weight class. The undefeated boxer will make a ring appearance on September 10 against Robson Conceicao. Top Rank Promotions shared this news on its official Instagram handle.

Here they wrote, “𝙅𝙐𝙎𝙏 𝘼𝙉𝙉𝙊𝙐𝙉𝘾𝙀𝘿 After registering the KO of the Year and securing the top spot in the Junior Lightweight division, it’s time for @oscarvaldez56’s defense of the throne to begin.”

Valdez, prior to turning his attention to the super-featherweight frame, put on some notable performances at the featherweight landscape. When he moved up, his form continued.

The 30-year-old put on a colossal statement in the 130-pound weight class with his last staggering performance against Berchelt. He handed out a one-sided beating and kicked off his 2021 in style.

Valdez adopts an offensive style of fighting and he always begins his assault from the very first second in a fight. This approach has helped him end up on the winning vertical 29 times in 29 fights.

The undefeated boxer will look forward to employing the same game plan against Conceicao, who will struggle to get past his power.
