Is Michael Mealor leaving The Young and the Restless?

Following his three years on the show, it was rumored that Mealor would not be returning to the show for another season.

On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Mealor himself confirmed the departure.

“In true Chanccomm fashion, Uncle Billy broke the news first…..my time as we know it on The Young and the Restless is coming to a close,” Mealor wrote on Instagram.

“The last three and a half years has been a truly humbling and life changing experience. I wouldn’t have been here this long without your love!”

Mealor’s departure comes just before his character was set to marry Summer (Hunter King) again before an old lover resurfaced claiming that she had given birth to his child.

An insider told Soap Opera Digest that both Mealor and King are set to depart from the show due to contract negotiations.

“Protracted negotiations over King and Mealor’s contracts reached a stalemate,” the insider said.

With both of them set to leave the show, fans now hope for a happy ending for the couple.

Who is Michael Mealor?

Mealor is an Atlanta, Georgia native who moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting and modeling career.

Following his relocation, Mealor signed with Wilhelmina Modeling Agency and his career took off.

Throughout his acting career, he has had roles in Supergirl, Roadies, and Chasing Life before getting a recurring role on The Young and the Restless.

Mealor has also previously been in music videos for both Lady Gaga and Britney Spears.

In 2012, Mealor was in a Coca Cola campaign for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

Mealor is also a former Abercrombie and Fitch model according to his CBS bio.

Born February 29, 1992, Mealor is 29-years-old.

What does Michael Mealor eat in a day?

Back in 2020, Mealor did an interview with Watch Magazine about how he stays fit and focused.

His healthy lifestyle also involves a simple diet.

Breakfast

“I never eat breakfast. I know it’s weird. I just drink black coffee. I love the taste and it curbs my appetite,” he revealed to Watch.

Lunch

“A kale or quinoa salad with protein on top, though I’m no longer a huge red-meat eater.”

Dinner

“It absolutely has to be hot. I can’t eat anything cold for dinner, except sushi. I was raised on the southern meat-and-three (side dishes) diet,” Mealor revealed.

“I don’t cook, but there’s a health food store near my house that has a lot of prepared foods. I love their turmeric chicken fingers and rice balls with chile sauce.”

Snack

Mealor revealed that for his snack of the day, he usually enjoys a protein bar or cookie.

He admitted to having a sweet tooth himself so anything chocolate will always do.
