Love Island 2021: Georgia Townend dumped from villa in dramatic recoupling

Love Island bombshell Georgia Townend was dumped from the villa tonight in the most dramatic episode of the series so far.

The contestant only arrived in the villa on Wednesday, but after being pied off by Hugo Hammond, she wasn’t picked by any of the boys.

Hugo was the last to choose which girl he wanted to recouple with, opting for Chloe Burrows, who had just been dumped by Toby Aromolaran, over Georgia.

Chloe had been left standing at the fire pit as Toby chose to be with new addition Abigail Rawlings – and Hugo was having none of it.

‘I would like to couple up with this girl because not only is she out of this world beautiful, but is super intelligent, she’s funny and whenever I’m with her, I’m definitely at my happiest,’ he said.

Referring to the Toby drama, Hugo then added: ‘If I’m being completely honest, she doesn’t deserve to be treated how she has been in the past 24 hours and I just thoroughly believe a lot of this test stuff is complete bullsh*t.’

Poor Georgia was devastated to leave the villa, and maintains that she and Hugo would have been a good match.

‘I’m not sure why there wasn’t a spark,’ she said after her exit. ‘I think he holds a candle for Lucinda (Strafford) and Chloe…

‘I think perhaps unless he’s honest with himself and really goes for that, he’s not going to even explore other options and he just wants to protect his friends and make sure they’re ok, which isn’t a bad thing, it’s just obviously in this instance it’s at my expense.

‘Maybe he doesn’t really know what he’s looking for.’

Despite not striking a connection with Hugo, Georgia has no regrets over how she spent her time on the show.

‘It was really tricky to go in and only have the one person I was interested in,’ she added.

‘When that didn’t pay off, I knew I was up sh*ts creek without a paddle. They were all lovely boys but I know what I’m looking for and none of them are it.

‘A lot of the couples in there, they’re the right pair for one another, so I would have felt awful, selfish and really unkind if I’d ripped a couple apart if I wasn’t wholly invest.’

Love Island continues on Friday at 9pm on ITV2.
