WBO Orders Terence Crawford’s Next Fight Against Shawn Porter

The WBO welterweight champ, Terence Crawford, has been eagerly waiting for his return fight for a while. Earlier, he was in contention to face his arch-rival, Errol Spence Jr. for a massive welterweight title unification bout. Unfortunately, as this fight failed to materialize, it disheartened the fans. However, they have received a piece of positive news pertaining to Crawford’s return.

The WBO has ordered the champ to face the welterweight sensation, Shawn Porter, as his next mandatory challenge.

Crawford was already set to make his return to the ring on October 23. However, there was no news about the opponent he was supposed to face. But now, ‘Bud’ has bagged one worthy contender in Porter, and he’d be hoping to see this fight getting finalized.

Mike Coppinger shared this news pertaining to Porter being Crawford’s mandatory challenge on Twitter.

Crawford was last seen in action in November 2020. He fought Kell Brook for his WBO title defense. As expected, ‘Bud’ walked over his adversary and claimed a thrilling T/KO win. After this fight, the Nebraska native was highly interested in finally fighting Spence Jr.

However, ‘The Truth’ got himself set for a fight against The Filippino boxing legend, Manny Pacquiao. That said, Crawford will now like to face the challenge at hand and improve his resume.
