Dave has released the passionate track Heart Attack which features a woman believed to be his mother, with fans in absolute pieces listening to the poignant message within.

The award-winning rapper – who brought the Brits to a standstill in 2020 with his performance of Black – has touched hearts of fans with the track, which is from his latest album, We’re All Alone in This Together, which dropped today.

Nine-minute track Heart Attack features the star cover immigration, knife crime and violence on the streets as well as the deaths of young Black men.

The song begins with newsreels of reporters talking about knife crime being at a ‘near-record high’, with police sirens blaring in the background.

Dave – real name David Omoregie – raps: ‘For half my career I was part of that/My best friend got a burner, and it’s lookin’ like an artifact/Put it in your puffer or your Prada hat/Like f**k panic, that’s a heart attack.’

Many fans are drawing parallels between his 2016 track Panic Attack and noticing a carry-on in Dave’s story, after the star shared a hint to his Twitter last week it may be a continuation.

However, it was the outro to Heart Attack that hit hard for many listeners, as Dave’s mother was heard recalling her journey to the UK through tears.

She’s heard saying: ‘I was in detention counsel for months, I didn’t give up/I was not even 20 when I left Africa/I was determined to survive.’

Fans reacted to the artist’s goosebump-inducing track and were emotional at the outro, with one insisting Dave’s mother ‘deserves the world’.

Another wrote on Twitter: ‘Dave’s mum in Heart Attack got me feeling a certain type of way… I appreciate everything my parents have given me in this life and I hope to repay every penny that they invested in this country back to them.’

Gosh, Dave’s mum at the end of heart attack 🥺 triggering emotions. Bless her. They deserve it all ❤️

Hearing Dave’s Mum on heart attack has me emotional. So many of our parents feel this very pain; the sacrifices they’ve had to make isn’t for the weak. God bless them their soul

The track in general had fans praising the artist’s lyrical genius once again, with one musing Dave ‘is the goat [greatest of all time]’.

One felt the song only brought home why Dave’s music resonates: ‘Heart attack is so raw and reminds me why I fell in love with Dave’s music in the first place. Authentic and honest.’

As another wrote Dave had ‘outdone himself’ with the track, one added: ‘The tears that a streaming down my face after listening to Heart Attack on Dave’s new album. Literally feel like the title of the track my heart hurts so much.
