If you had been looking forward to the cinematic experience of Dev Patel’s long awaited horror movie The Green Knight, then prepare to be disappointed UK fans.

The epic was set to have its theatrical release in just two weeks but has now been pulled after fears of the growing surge in Covid-19 cases.

Due to release on August 6, the film has had all promotion including posters and trailers postponed for an indefinite amount of time.

It follows the postponing of The Duke to 2022, starring Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren, from the UK as concerns over the Delta variant grow, despite the so-called Freedom day which lifted restrictions in the country on Monday July 26.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the acclaimed film will still launch on Friday June 30 and has amassed critical reviews across the boards, with movie buffs excited to enjoy the experience.

There are fears that there will be more films pulled from UK release while Covid cases remain high.

The Green Knight, from writer-director David Lowery, also stars Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan and Ralph Ineson.

There is currently no indication of if and when the movie will eventually arrive in UK cinemas.

It’s fair to say we’re green with envy when we know what the US are about to enjoy.
