‘He’s Probably Doubting Himself’- Colby Covington Gives Honest Prediction on T.J. Dillashaw vs Cory Sandhagen

Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington gives his take on the main event clash at UFC Vegas 32. Former 2-time bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw makes a return to the octagon in a highly important clash against Cory Sandhagen.

Dillashaw was out of action after USADA and NYSAC banned him on charges of EPO consumption. The former champion relinquished his title and is making a return after 2 years. He last fought against Henry Cejudo for the flyweight gold.

Covington, who is eyeing a rematch with Kamaru Usman, gave his views on the return of Dillashaw and his expectation. “When you come back from a ***roid suspension, you don’t fare well, James.

“Doesn’t matter who they put him there against, I just don’t see him being the same guy he was in the past.”

Covington believes Dillashaw has dilemmas going into the fight against Sandhagen. “Mentally when you take ***roids… you have that advantage and that edge that you get from the lab, you know.

“When you don’t have it you know, it’s the mental thing that changes and he’s probably doubting himself I mean that’s why he has pushed back (date), as it is,” he added.

According to ‘Chaos’, it doesn’t matter who UFC pits him against, he won’t win. “I just don’t see him coming back successfully winning after coming back from ***roid suspension.”

Prior to that, he fought against Marlon Moraes at UFC Fight Night 179 and won the match via TKO in Round 2. This win came after he suffered a loss previously against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 250.

The match could act as a title eliminator. With Sterling expected to face Yan in a rematch, both men can make a strong case for the title shot next. Who do you see prevailing in the end?
