Lorde had to have IV drip after intense drinking session with Seth Meyers
It started as a laugh – we can all relate (Picture: NBC)
We’ve all had at least one sesh that ended in the worst kind of hangover and Lorde can certainly relate as a ‘crazy’ boozefest with Seth Meyers led to her having to be put on an IV drip.
While most of us can get over that regretful night with Ibuprofen, Netflix and endless Irn Bru, Lorde went the extra mile as she took part in Seth’s now infamous drinking game on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
While Lorde was there to deliver the first full production musical performance on Late Night, it was overshadowed with the alcohol party; which bizarrely included gin with a pork rib dipped in it.
Well, that saves buying in the pork scratchings we suppose.
The segment is a long running feature on the show but Lorde was left suffering in the aftermath of downing a shot of Japanese sake, some Irish whiskey, red wine from France and some White Claw.
As things got more tipsy, Seth struggled to pronounce her full name of Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor while Lorde herself cast aside doubts that the segment, which has previously featured Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson among others, is faked as she admitted: ‘I’m drunk.’

Later, Lorde told Seth: ‘You did kind of destroy me and I had to get a very pop-star thing: an IV drip.’
Well if you will mix Japanese sake, gin, red wine and pork, you will pay the price in the morning.
Lorde recently revealed that she stays off social media after being undecided if she wanted to engage with TikTok and Instagram.
She explained: ‘I realised I was trying to come up with a funny Instagram caption and do a photo of me that looked cool, that I hoped would get a certain amount of likes,’ said the Royals singer. ‘It sounds obvious but that’s cooked.
‘I’m not a girl that gets a bunch of likes. I am who I am and I’ve got to lean into that.’
