Love Island viewers were left emotional as Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish finally made their romance official and declared their love for each other.

Jake had revealed to the boys earlier in the show that he was going to prepare a dinner for Liberty, because ‘she appreciates the little things’, telling the boys: ‘I think it’s maybe time to take the plunge and put a label on it.’

The pair have been coupled up since the first day in the villa and have cemented themselves as fan favourites, with viewers rooting for them to go the distance.

Their dinner was made extra special as Hugo Hammond and Liam Rearden serenaded them as they sat down to eat, with Lib joking: ‘Is this the sort of treatment I’ll be getting every night?’

Millie and Liam then brought the pair a spaghetti bolognese before Faye and Teddy brought them dessert.

Jake then chose the perfect moment to pop the question, telling Liberty: ‘Iwanted to bring you here and just say how happy you make me to be honest.’

Liberty responded: ‘I’ve never connected with someone the way I have with you, ever. All cards on the table, I don’t think I really knew what love was until I met you.’

Jake then asked her: ‘I feel like I’ve found the one. Will you be my girlfriend?’, which Liberty accepted before bursting into happy tears and telling him: ‘I love you!’

Viewers were emotional as the pair made it official, tweeting: ‘If your not balling at Jake and Liberty are you even human’ and ‘Awhhh Jiberty’.
