Kate Beckinsale hasn’t seen her daughter Lily Sheen in two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 47-year-old shares daughter Lily with her ex Michael Sheen, and the 22-year-old is following in her parents’ footsteps by getting into acting.
However, movie sets and travel restrictions have been keeping Kate and Lily apart.
Kate appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan to promote her new movie Jolt, and explained to Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest that she hadn’t been able to see Lily since before the pandemic started.
The Underworld star said: ‘I haven’t seen my daughter for two years because of everything. Also, I went to Canada working and she couldn’t come see me,.
‘Two years of not seeing your child is the most preposterous thought.’

She added: ‘Thank god for FaceTime and all that, but we’re both panicking that we’re going to look really old to each other.
‘My daughter is 22 but looks eight. She’s like, “I’m just worried that you’ll think I’ll look old.” I’m like, “I’m gonna look old.”’
Lily lives in New York and filmed her first movie in 2020, called The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, with Kate saying: ‘She did her first movie last year, she’s playing Nicolas Cage’s daughter in a movie where Nicolas Cage is playing Nicolas Cage. It sounds very wild. She’s off and running. It’s quite scary.’
When asked if she’d given her daughter any advice, the actress joked: ‘I said, “Be a doctor,” and then this happened.’
Kate lives in Los Angeles, while Michael, 52, lives in Port Talbot with partner Anna Lundberg and their one-year-old daughter Lyra.
The stars were in a relationship between 1995 until 2003, with Kate marrying director Len Wiseman in 2004.
They separated in 2015 and in recent years, Kate’s love life has made headlines with high-profile relationships including Pete Davidson, 27, and Goody Grace, 24.

However, the Serendipity star insists that she’s never actually been on a proper date.
Kate told Extra: ‘Do you know I’ve never really been on a date? I literally meet someone, get to know them at work, and then either marry them or get pregnant by them.
‘I just can’t think of anything I’d hate more than sitting in front of somebody I don’t know, that chances are I won’t like, and have to sit and watch them eat food.’
Fair point.
