Watch moment Chelsie Giles bags judo bronze to win Team GB’s first Olympics medal at Tokyo 2020

JUDO star Chelsie Giles bagged Team GB’s first medal of Tokyo 2020 by bagging bronze in the women’s -52 judo.

The British star defeated Switzerland’s Fabienne Kocher to seal her place on the podium.

Giles, who hails from Coventry, beat Arbresha Rexhepi of Macedonia and Soumiya Iraoui of Morocco to reach the quarter-finals.

She was then beaten by Japan’s Uta Abe, but that didn’t end her chances of medalling.

Charline van Snick was next up as her focuses turned to sealing third place.

And after taking out the Belgian, Giles defeated Kocher with an Ippon finish to seal bronze, celebrating by jubilantly jumping into her coach’s arms.
