BTS leave ARMYs in tears as they dedicate I’ll Be Missing You Live Lounge cover to fans amid Covid pandemic

BTS have got us all up in our feels with their Live Lounge cover of I’ll Be Missing You, dedicating the sweet song to their ARMYs.

We’re going to need a moment.

The lads, Jimin, Jungkook, V, RM, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, performed a gorgeous rendition of Puff Daddy and Faith Evans’ song I’ll Be Missing You for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge.

Of course, they also put their own spin on it, with Suga rapping heartfelt lyrics in Korean about not being able to see the ones we love amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking about how much they missed fans, the band explained on Radio 1: ‘It’s been almost two years we haven’t seen the ARMYs.

‘It’s like 700 days and it’s the first time ever because sometimes we meet them three times, twice a day, and now it’s been a year or so.’

What does Suga rap in I’ll Be Missing You?

According to a translation tweeted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts, Suga raps:

‘We’re now used to our routines taken away

‘But still can’t give up living on

‘We’re more worn out because we don’t know where this ends

‘We’re an island we made ourselves because we couldn’t trust each other

‘Hope an end comes for this tiring pandemic virus

‘Negative thoughts can sometimes be a minus

‘I knew it wasn’t the end so I couldnt say bye

‘When that day comes, will say “hi” like nothing happened.’

He goes on to rap:

‘I hate this world, our traces became memories

‘I just empty my mind, trust without conditions

‘I fill it every day with just loneliness

‘Not like the longing that encircles me

‘We miss U baby

‘Whenever it may be

‘Here’s hoping we meet again, I promise.’

They added of their cover: ‘We miss all of you, BBC, Armys, everyone abroad and in Korea too. It’s kind of like a message to all of you.’

The band also drew attention to the original song being a tribute to rapper Notorious B.I.G, who died in 1997.

The song was released shortly after his death and samples The Police’s Every Breath You Take.

Fans have been left emotional by BTS’ debut in the Live Lounge, with one writing on Twitter: ‘I’ve no words. Im crying like baby rn. I love BTS so much.’

I thought I would be crying because this song is so sad and has so many memories from my younger self, but what really made me ugly crying was Suga’s and Hobi’s Korean verses 😭 #BTS pic.twitter.com/UaGoqj43Ng

‘Ears blessed and eyes teared up!’ another said, while one more added: ‘I don’t think I am the only one crying after this.’

We’re glad to hear it’s not just us!

It wasn’t the only song BTS blessed us with either, with the lads also jamming to their hit Dynamite and their new single Permission To Dance along with a live band.

BTS have been smashing records left right and centre, pretty much achieving world domination since their debut in 2013.

And they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon, with Ed Sheeran recently revealing he’s written a song for the superstars.

Ed said: ‘I’ve actually worked with BTS on their last record, and I’ve just written a song for their new record. And they’re like super, super cool guys as well.’

A source from BTS’ label Big Hit Music added to South Korean media: ‘It is true that Ed Sheeran is participating in BTS’s new song.’

We can’t wait!
