Coleen Rooney is standing by her husband Wayne, after the former footballer was pictured in a hotel room with three women.

Wayne, 35, was pictured asleep in a hotel room, as selfies taken with the women – Tayler Ryan and her friends Elise Melvin and Brooke Morgan, all 21 – went viral on social media.

The Derby County manager had been partying in a nightclub in Manchester before he appeared to join the women in a Staycity hotel room.

There is no suggestion that Wayne acted inappropriately or was aware that the photos were being taken.

A source told The Sun that Coleen, 35, believes her husband has been ‘stitched up’; there is no suggestion that the women pictured with Wayne were involved in a ‘stitch-up’.

The insider said: ‘Coleen is fully behind him. She feels he’s been the victim of a stitch-up.

‘She has spoken to him and is entirely backing his version of events. They are rock solid.’

A rep for Coleen and Wayne confirmed that the WAG is fully behind her husband.

Coleen is currently on holiday in Wales with their four children, Kai, 11, Klay, eight, Kit, five, and three-year-old Cass.

Wayne had been in Manchester as Derby County faced Salford City on Saturday, with his team losing the friendly 2-1.

Coleen and Wayne met when they were just 12 years old, and began dating when they were 16, after leaving school.

The couple tied the knot in 2008.

Representatives for the England star claimed to have contacted the Greater Manchester Police over the images, but this morning, GMP said they were not investigating any incident involving Rooney.

Police stated they were not aware that it had been reported to them and there was currently no police involvement.

The photographs, which emerged on social media after being shared in WhatsApp groups, showed Wayne sitting upright in a hotel room chair, apparently asleep as the women posed around him.

One picture was captioned ‘Sleepy Wayne’, and showed one of the women sticking out her tongue beside him.
