Former Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison dies at 46

Former Slipknot drummer and co-founder Joey Jordison has died at the age of 46.
A statement from his family did not disclose the cause of death, but did share that he had died ‘peacefully in his sleep’ on Monday. A private funeral service will be held at an undisclosed location.
The family said: ‘We are heartbroken to share the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician and artist passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26th, 2021. He was 46.
‘Joey’s death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow.’
‘To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music.
‘The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time.
Jordison was a part of Slipknot until 2013
‘The family will hold a private funeral service and asks the media and public to respect their wishes.’
Jordison launched the heavy metal group in 1995 appearing on five of their studio albums before he left in 2013.
He went on to form Scar The Martyr, for which he also played drums, and was part of the bands Murderdolls and Sinsaenum.
