Henry Cejudo Surprised with TJ Dillashaw’s Win Over Cory Sandhagen, Gives his Verdict on the Controversial Decision

Returning to the octagon after serving a two-year suspension, TJ Dillashaw picked up a controversial split decision win over Cory Sandhagen at UFC Vegas 32.

The former two-time champion’s latest victory has garnered a lot of attention, even from the former double Champion, Henry Cejudo, who recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the Bantamweight contest this past weekend.

Despite the bad blood between the two stemming from TJ Dillashaw testing positive for EPO use in his bout against Cejudo.’Triple C’ chose to put on his analyst hat while assessing the fight and gave credit to Dillashaw for his gritty performance.

” I do believe he won the fight. Even though he got beat up he controlled more of the time and I don’t think we give credit to that you know.”

Admitting that while Sandhagen seemed to land the harder shots, Cejudo believes TJ’s constant pressure and superior wrestling ability allowed him to control and dictate the pace of the fight.

Furthermore, ‘Triple C’ shared a few of his observations regarding Cory Sandhagen, the first one being his inability to deal with a superior wrestler, which was on display in his first loss in the UFC against Aljamain Sterling. And secondly, the lack of power in his punches while backing up.

Applauding the competitive nature of the bout, Cejudo rested his case only after stating that both Cory and TJ won’t go past two rounds with him being the opponent.

Breaking down the fight.

Will Henry Cejudo ever return to the octagon?

Dubbed the “King of cringe”, Henry Cejudo might be a little too much to deal with when on the microphone, but a quick glance at his resume as a fighter gives one a clearer understanding of his abilities inside the octagon.

After suffering two back-to-back losses in 2016 against Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez, Triple C went on one of the most epic runs in the history of the sport, to become the first two-division champ at Flyweight and Bantamweight.

Having avenged his loss against the ‘Mighty mouse’, coupled with two scintillating performances against TJ Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz, Cejudo shockingly chose to retire at UFC 249 after his win over Cruz.

However, with both of Cejudo’s weight classes now stacked with fierce competitors, the 34-year-old has expressed an interest in returning to the octagon.

With the likes of TJ Dillashaw, Petr Yan, and Brandon Moraes running the show, who knows? We might get to see Cejudo in the Octagon once again. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
