Product specialist, Patrick Pearce, from Fountain Valley, California finished last night’s episode with -$7,400.
This low number broke Stephanie Hull’s 2015 loss of -$6,800.
Patrick closed out the Jeopardy round in the black with $200, but then Double Jeopardy made things worse for him, and he hit a negative number.
So he was not eligible to play in Final Jeopardy.
Kathleen McHugh and Matt Amodio took on Final Jeopardy.
Matt triumphed and won more than $122K in his four-day winning streak.
Monday’s episode also saw LeVar Burton make his guest-hosting debut following Alex Trebek’s death in 2020.
He told The View ahead of last night’s show: “More than anything, I am eager to put my skills up against those of anyone else in contention and then let the chips fall where they may.
“The important thing for me is I have an opportunity to compete for the job, and that’s all I ever really wanted.”
Soon into LeVar’s first episode, fans took to Twitter to praise the actor for his work as guest host.
One viewer said they were “so excited” for the actor to host, adding: “@levarburton needs to be the permanent #Jeopardy host.”
Another added: “Levar Burton’s voice just makes me happy.”

A third chimed in: “LEVAR MAKE HIM PERMANENT.”
The praise for the famous Reading Rainbow host continued as another fan exclaimed they “are loving” him as host.
An additional viewer commented: “Already loving LeVar Burton. He takes the game seriously and not like a game night with friends.”
