Kelly Clarkson is now required to pay her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock nearly $200,000 (£145k) a month in child and spousal support, according to reports.

The singer has been in a bitter divorce battle with her ex and former manager since they announced their split last year.

Tuesday saw a Los Angeles County judge ordered Clarkson, 39, to give Blackstock $150,000 (£108k) per month in spousal support, as well as $45,601 per month in child support to her former partner.

Clarkson and Blackstock, 44, wed in 2013 in Tennessee and share two children together; daughter River, six, and four-year-old son Remington.

In legal documents first obtained by The Blast, the judge issued the order following arguments over problems related to the former couple’s property, children, and monthly income.

According to the filing, the American Idol winner’s staggering $1,583,617 per month in income means she is required to pay Brandon $150k per month in spousal support which started back on April 1st, 2021.

People magazine also reports the singer will pay $1.25 million towards her estranged husband’s attorney fees and costs for their ongoing divorce.

The Blast also reported the mom-of-two will also ‘pay child support to (Brandon) for the benefit of the minor children, River Rose Blackstock, born June 12, 2014, and Remington Alexander Blackstock, born April 12, 2016, in the amount of $45,601 per month.’

Brandon also has children from his first marriage to Melissa Ashworth and is father to daughter Savannah, 17, and son Seth, 13.

The court documents also stated that Brandon – who has managed Kelly, Blake Shelton and other stars in the music business in the past – has officially quit the industry.

He has pursued a career as a rancher in his new home state of Montana, the court papers alleged he ‘made a very deliberate choice to change his life and become a rancher full-time’.

His future career plans include sponsoring rodeos and working on the ranch, the outlet said.

Kelly previously requested the judge allow her to sell the Montana ranch the family spent quarantine in.

However, her request was not approved so she could not sell but the court did say that Brandon would be “responsible” for the finances of the estate in the future.
