Chris Jericho to Battle Former WCW Rival Juventud Guerrera on AEW Dynamite: Homecoming

When we talk about the greatest pro wrestlers in the world, Chris Jericho definitely makes the top five. For those who did not think so are also agreeing after his terrific performance in the No Rules match against Nick Gage on AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen special.

As Jericho overcame ‘MDK’ on Dynamite in his second labor, MJF wasted little time to announce the third labor for him. He revealed next week on the Homecoming edition of Dynamite, Jericho would take on a former rival in his third labor. Who is the rival? Former WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Juventud Guerrera.

Chris Jericho to battle Juventud Guerrera next week on AEW Dynamite

Immediately after Chris Jericho won his match against Nick Gage, MJF announced the next labor. He revealed the stipulation for the next match would be, the first wrestler to hit a maneuver off the top wins.

However, he added that he’s known to hold grudges and rolled out footage from the 13th November, 2019, edition of Dynamite. In the footage, Jericho belittles MJF on the mic by mentioning Juventud Guerrera in his promo.

Although MJF doesn’t know Juventud and asks Jericho who is he? At the time, ‘Le Champion’ told him to google the name and fast forward two years later, he did! The ‘Salt of the Earth’ then announced that Jericho’s third labor would be against Juventud Guerrera!

He said, “Labor No. 3, one of the greatest luchadors in the history of professional wrestling is coming back to TNT after fifteen years to face his oldest and most bitter rival, the ‘The Juice’ Juventud Guerrera!”

Juventud Guerrera and Chris Jericho feuded in WCW for the Cruiserweight Championship in 1998. It was during their feud that Juventud lost his mask in a mask versus Title match. And by the looks of it, it seems like Juvi hasn’t forgotten what ‘Le Champion’ did to him thirteen years ago.

Jericho and Guerrera’s feud in WCW was one of the most memorable one of the cruiserweight division. Sadly, that is the only time the two feuded as Jericho would eventually leave for WWE in 1999. But whatever brief feud they had, they reignite next week with Juventud looking to get vengeance for the past.
