Clean Bandit’s Grace Chatto will finally start watching Love Island after being blown away by former contestant Wes Nelson’s efforts in the music studio.
The Tick Tock singer praised Wes for having ‘the best recording voice’ and said she would be a reality star snob if she had denied him the chance to collaborate on their new track Drive, with German DJ Topic.
Grace, 35, was more than happy to work with Wes after hearing his single Nice To Meet Ya, and had no idea of his other life among the reality stars frolicking in Love Island’s villa the Casa Amor.
‘I have never actually seen Love Island before,’ she told Guilty Pleasures. ‘I am dancing to Nice To Meet Ya all the time. I only heard of Wes as an artist, that’s how his name and voice came to me. I am only hearing now about the Love Island shenanigans.’
Grace praised 23-year-old Wes — who was also a runner-up on Dancing On Ice in 2019 — for breaking through the music industry snobbery.
She continued: ‘I have so much respect for anyone hustling in this industry.
‘I’m sure it’s difficult to keep the Love Island stuff separate, but there is no way his music is not going to outshine that because he is really talented and a great singer.
‘A producer friend introduced us. Our engineer said he has the best recording voice she has ever heard… he’s such a cool guy.’
And you learn something new every day as, despite being late to the party, Grace is now tempted to cave in to Love Island mania.
The cellist confessed: ‘I really want to watch the series that he was on. I might start…’
That’s Gaga… always ahead of the pack
Lady Gaga rocked wild heels in New York (Picture: GC Images)
She’s had her share of Bad Romances — but here’s proof Lady Gaga really does come with some serious baggage.
Ms Poker Face revealed the massive effort it takes to create one of her head-turning get-ups when she emerged on the streets of New York in a turban, leotard, glittery tights and megawatt lace-up boots featuring nine-inch heels and a five-inch platform.
But even more impressive than Gaga’s balancing act was the number of flunkies who have to follow her about to carry her travelling closet.
The 35-year-old needed at least three burly bouncers to haul four massive cases, plus hand luggage.
Gaga is in the Big Apple after a going on a tennis retreat in California with her current lover, entrepreneur Michael Polansky.
It was reported earlier this week that she was originally set to open the Tokyo Olympics — randomly dressed as Super Mario.

Lily Allen and David Harbour are seriously loved up (Picture: AP)
David Harbour admits he had a ‘thin existence’ before marrying Lily Allen and becoming a stepdad.
The actor, 46, explained: ‘I’m very much a New York sort of city rat. I liked my freedom, my independence.’
But then, as Stranger Things’ Jim Hopper, he became a father figure to Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, which made him feel he needed a fuller personal life.
David, stepfather to Lily’s daughters Ethel, nine, and Marnie, eight, told the podcast That Scene With Dan Patrick: ‘The show opened my heart in a lot of different ways, and one of the ways that it did was it started to make me realise how thin my existence was without a family.’

Dawson’s Creek hunk Joshua Jackson is rewriting his childhood memories after revealing his daughter now sleeps in the bedroom he had as a young boy.
Joshua, married to British Anne Boleyn star Jodie Turner-Smith, 34, has bought the house in Topanga, California, where he grew up. He was hell-bent on raising their one-year-old daughter Janie there to make amends for his own rubbish dad.
The actor, 43, said: ‘My father, unfortunately, was not a good father or a husband and exited the scene but that house in Topanga was where everything felt simple, so it was a very healing thing for me to do.’
The house even had a wall decoration he remembered from his childhood, he told fashion site Mr Porter.
‘There was a mural of a dragon on the wall in that room that I couldn’t believe was still there, years later,’ he said, adding that the previous owner told him: ‘I knew it meant a lot to somebody and that they were going to come back for it some day.’ See mrporter.com.

But it hasn’t all been fun in the sun after pictures showed Italian police boarding their yacht earlier in the week.
It was reported they got a telling-off for letting Cruz and ten-year-old daughter Harper ride jet skis without supervision.
