Novak Djokovic Thrashes Rio Medalist Kei Nishikori on His Home Ground at Tokyo Olympics 2020

World No.1 Novak Djokovic seems just unstoppable right now. He is now one step closer to winning the Olympic Gold at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 as he thrashed fan’s favorite Kei Nishikori at his home in straight sets in the quarters of the tournament. The final scoreline of the match was 6-2, 6-0.

Novak Djokovic was quite dominant throughout the match as he lost only two games. He didn’t give any chance to Kei Nishikori and advanced to the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Set-1: Novak Djokovic dominates the entire set

World No.1 Djokovic began the set on a really high note as he won the first game. The Serb broke in the next game too and then won the subsequent game to establish a 3-0 lead over Nishikori.

Nishikori finally managed to win the fourth game with the help of some amazing forehand winners. However, he failed to break Djokovic in the following game, and thus, the Serbian was leading 4-1 at the end of the fifth game. He even had the chance of breaking yet again in the sixth game but the Japanese star saved the break-point and reduced the margin to 4-2.

However, Djokovic won the next game on his serve and extended his lead to 5-2. He then broke yet again to seal the first set 6-2 in 40 minutes.

Set-2: Game, Set, Match for Djokovic

Djoker yet again enjoyed an exceptional start in the second set as he saved a break-point and won the first game. Interestingly, he broke in the second game to take his lead to 2-0.

The Serbian legend didn’t lose his momentum and won four back-to-back points in the next game to widen his lead to 3-0. Nishikori was in some real trouble and had to do something to make a comeback in the match.

However, he was looking helpless as he was not able to time his shots properly. Intriguingly, the World No.1 player broke yet again and then won his following service game as well. As a result, he was now just one game away from entering into the semis of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Djokovic broke for the third consecutive time in the sixth game and bageled the Japanese star. Thus, he conquered the set 6-0, and thus, won the match.
