“Don’t Know What to Say”: Teary-Eyed Novak Djokovic Abandons Press at Tokyo Olympics 2020 After Tough Losses

It was quite a tough day for World No.1 Novak Djokovic. After losing to Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals of the singles category, he also got eliminated from the mixed doubles category. As a result, his dream of winning the Gold at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 came to an end.

Novak Djokovic was playing in the mixed doubles category with his partner Nina Stojanovic. Even though the Serbian pair fought hard, they failed to win even a single set against their Russian opponents, Aslan Karatsev and Elina Vesnina. Thus, Djoker seemed quite upset in the post-match interview.

While answering questions at the end of the match, Djokovic looked quite frustrated. Thus, instead of facing the press, the World No.1 player decided to walk off without giving a proper statement to the media.

It was a disappointing day for Djokovic and his fans. Not only his chance of winning the Calendar Golden Slam ended, but he also failed to even a single Gold medal for his nation.

Nole was clearly not in a mood to talk after his double loss at the Tokyo Olympics 2020- that too on the same day. Therefore, he just mentioned that he had nothing to say about his defeat and walked off.

“I don’t know, I have no idea. Honestly, now I’m, uh … I don’t know what to say,” said Djokovic.

Djokovic was almost in tears when he left the press midway. He is mentally a very strong player but couldn’t control his emotions after a difficult day.

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 is still not completely over Novak Djokovic. He’ll be competing for the Bronze medal tomorrow against Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta. Will Djokovic be able to end his campaign in Tokyo on a happy note?
