Eddie Hearn Reveals the Reason Behind Bob Arum’s Interest in Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury’s epic undisputed collision was in place to take center stage on August 14. However, this fight fell through, thus leaving the fighters, their promoters, and fans rather disappointed. This fight took almost half a year to come together, after which, it still couldn’t be brought to reality. This left a huge dent in the sport overall and it subsequently increased the rift between both these boxers.

But recently, Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum expressed their true notions on rolling out this fight. Especially the latter as he asserted on staging this fight in the UK, regardless of the money involved.

His comments reached Eddie Hearn, and he took a dig at Arum on the same.

Speaking to iFL TV, he said, “Do you honestly think Bob would do it in the UK for half the money? Never heard so much b****cks… They wanna talk about that fight to help build Fury-Wilder, which is flat as a pancake.” (h/t Michael Benson)

While trying to make the Joshua vs Fury fight earlier this year, Eddie Hearn seemed on his front foot and he enjoyed a major chunk of the limelight. More than anyone else, he seemed keen to book this fight and eventually give the fans a show they’ve waited for.

But whatever took place later was out of his control and the Matchroom boss was truly disguised with the same. Accordingly, in his above statement, he looked surprised by Arum’s comments for staging the Joshua vs Fury fight in the UK for half the money it could realistically make.

Will the fans ever get to see the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury collision?

Both Joshua and Fury gave their take on facing each other numerous times. But for now, the British warriors are aligned for a fight with different opponents.

Also, until they get past their next adversaries, a fight between the two doesn’t really seem to be on the cards.

Furthermore, every fight fan is ecstatic to see the two collide once for all. As a result, Joshua and Fury will have a gigantic responsibility on their shoulders to win their next bouts and eventually fight each other.
