“Going To Win Most Slams”: Alexander Zverev Claims Novak Djokovic As ‘GOAT’ After Olympics Victory

It was semifinal time at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and we had a mouth-watering tie between Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev. However, there was a slight upset as the World No. 1 player suffered defeat and hindered his chance of winning his maiden Olympic gold medal.

After winning the match, Alexander Zverev got emotional at the net while exchanging pleasantries with Novak Djokovic. He confessed to the Serb that he is one of the best players of all time and that he is sorry that he ended up on the losing side. Zverev stated, “You’re one of the greatest players of all time. I’m sorry for this.”

During the match, Djokovic started off brilliantly. Within a matter of time, he clinched the opening set. In fact, the Serb was up a break in the second set until Zverev raised his levels and broke right back in the next game.

This was the turning point of the match. Soon after, the German broke him in the next game and served it out for the set in the next game.
