Love Island has cast everyone from social media influencers and and models to boxers and former boyband members – but we’ve now had our first royal.

Teddy Soares has suddenly revealed he used to be a prince, leaving the other islanders stunned.

Chatting to his pals in the main villa before he headed to Casa Amor, Teddy explained that he’s half Nigerian and opened up about his roots.

‘I’m going to say something so shocking, I’m actually a Prince of one of [the states],’ he said.

‘It’s like a village, it’s within the Delta State village,’ he added. ‘So, my grandad who has obviously passed away, so I’m actually no longer a prince, I was a prince, but yeah.’

Faye Winter, who Teddy was coupled up with at the time, couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

‘Teddy was once a prince! Are you joking?’ she asked. ‘I mean I’ve definitely got to stop with burping now, I might have to just stop and lay off the swearing so much but I think I’ve got this y’know.’

Not to worry Faye – you’re already a queen.

Fans are gutted looking back at the light-hearted scenes from the week in Love Island: Unseen Bits, knowing the drama that was set to come.

Viewers were left particularly heartbroken for Teddy, who returned to the villa single after being loyal to Faye during his stay in Casa Amor, only to find that she’d recoupled with bombshell Sam Jackson.

However, Faye was under the impression that Teddy had been unfaithful, after receiving a postcard from Casa Amor that showed him kissing another girl in a game.

What she didn’t realise was that the kiss was only in one of the games.

‘No guys I cannot the Teddy, I feel so bad for him,’ one viewer wrote, while another added: ‘IS ANYONE GOING TO ASK IF TEDDY’S OKAY?’

Honestly, we need to know.

Love Island returns Sunday night at 9pm on ITV2.
