WWE SmackDown results, grades: Sasha Banks returns and destroys Bianca Belair

Sasha Banks returned to WWE SmackDown for the first time since WrestleMania 37 to save rival Bianca Belair – before turning on her by the end of the night.
The Legit Boss hadn’t been seen on screen by fans since losing her Women’s Championship to the EST of WWE in the night one main event back in April.
However, she made her presence felt in a big way on Friday as she gave viewers plenty of twists and turns over the evening.
Partway through the show, Belair came out for an interview with Kayla Braxton, only to be interrupted by Carmella and then Zelina Vega.
Both of them staked their claim for a title shot – despite the former being beaten by Bianca on more than one occasion, and the latter not winning since her return earlier this month.
Belair accepted Vega’s challenge but got attacked by both women before Banks’ music hit and she made her way down to save her WrestleMania rival as they stood side by side.
This set up an entertaining main event, with Bianca and Sasha working well together as the latter shone once she was tagged in en route to making Carmella tap to the Bank Statement.
They celebrated after the bell, only for Banks to hit her partner with a Backstabber and decimate the champ, making her tap out too as the show came to a dramatic end.
Baron Corbin wants to be John Cena’s stunt double in The Suicide Squad and tries to steal Finn Balor’s SummerSlam contract
At the start of the show, John Cena was in fine form as he addressed Roman Reigns’ missionary position jibe from last week and tore the Tribal Chief apart, insisting he changes character every two years because he’s struggled to find something that resonates.
Eventually, Baron Corbin interrupted Cena and explained his recent woes, before asking the Hollywood star for help and even offering to be his stunt double in The Suicide Squad – but all he got was an Attitude Adjustment.
The first match of the night saw Rey Mysterio beat Jey Uso in front of a white hot crowd, with the winner’s son Dominik helping his dad sneak the victory.
Reggie ended up defending his newly-won 24/7 Title against Chad Gable, showing off his amazing athleticism again before Otis attacked for the disqualification – although surely the championship’s rules would mean Gable could just pin him after the bell anyway?

Anyway, Roman Reigns and Finn Balor came out for a contract signing for their Universal Title match at SummerSlam, with the Head of the Table trying to manipulate the Prince after comments by Cena at the top of the night.
Balor promised to win the championship and take it back to NXT, but before he could sign on the dotted line Corbin attacked him to try and get his name on the contract to turn his fortunes around.
However, Cena charged down, attacked him too, and signed it himself – and while Paul Heyman questioned its validity, Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce made the match official.

Elsewhere, Shinsuke Nakamura, Big E and Cesaro picked up a win over IC Champion Apollo Crews, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode in a fun six-man tag match.
Meanwhile, Seth Rollins absolute shone as he first attacked Edge while he was on his way to the ring, and destroyed his rival.
After the break, he opened up on his recent actions and revealed his motivations when it comes to Edge standing in his way amid his quest for gold.
