Abbie Quinnen has revealed how Katie Piper reached out to support her after she suffered burns in an accident earlier this year.

The professional dancer, who is AJ Pritchard’s girlfriend, was left with third-degree burns after becoming engulfed in flames when a TikTok video she was filming went wrong in January.

Since then, Abbie, 24, has undergone three skin grafts, laser treatment every six weeks and still has to wear a compression suit 23 hours a day.

Katie, who is an acid attack survivor following an incident in 2008, was able to understand Abbie’s plight and offered a helping hand.

According to the Daily Star, Abbie said: ‘I’ve really struggled but therapy has made a huge difference – as has everyone’s support, including Katie Piper’s.

‘She told me it was OK to feel angry and upset and everything else. She also told me that talking about what happened to her openly was a massive part of her recovery.’

AJ, 26, added: ‘I was very proactive about Abbie having therapy and I’ve seen the positive effect. I thought I should too.’

TV presenter Katie was doused in acid by Stefan Sylvestre, who was acting on the orders of Katie’s obsessive ex-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch, who planned the assault outside her home in north London the previous year.

In June, Abbie revealed the true extent of her injuries, which occurred when she attempted to film a life hack that involved cutting a glass bottle in half to become a vase by dipping a rope into a flammable chemical and lighting it.

‘Some days I just sit inside and I cry all day. I look at myself in the mirror and if I’m not happy with what I’m wearing I end up crying and just get back in bed,’ she said on ITV’s Lorraine.

‘I feel like I’m less fun now because I’m aware of everything around me.’

She added: ‘I am definitely very anxious…it’s a whirlwind of emotions, that’s for sure…I wonder why and when it’s going to be over.’
