Mick Foley hopes Bray Wyatt ‘finds happiness’ after WWE exit as he hails The Fiend as a ‘true visionary’

WWE legend Mick Foley has heaped praise on Bray Wyatt after his release.
The Hall of Famer, who has long been a supporter of the former world champion, was unsurprisingly taken aback by The Fiend’s exit but he paid tribute to him with a sweet Twitter post.
Sharing WWE’s announcement, he replied: ‘With @WWE’s release of @WWEBrayWyatt the company has lost a true visionary and a creative genius; one of the most innovative makers of mayhem pro-wrestling has ever seen.
‘Here’s hoping Bray finds happiness and recreates himself once again – in wrestling, in life… or both.’
Foley expanded on his thoughts in a similar but lengthier Facebook post, and he suggested Wyatt truly is a one of a kind performer.
‘I’m not placing any blame on anyone for the release,’ he added. ‘I just want to acknowledge his greatness – and hope he does what’s needed to come back to wrestling when he’s ready – and entertain us as only he can.’
Although Foley and Wyatt did briefly share the ring, the legend’s age and past injuries meant a dream match between them could never become a reality – although The Fiend adopted his Mandible Claw finishing move.
Reflecting on the idea of tangling with Bray for a full storyline, Mick exclusively told Metro.co.uk back in 2019: ‘
Oh wow man. I would love to have six weeks to really create promos with him, if I could physically do it, which I cannot. But that’s what video games are for, right?’

Living legend Mick – whose runs as Mankind and Cactus Jack heavily influenced Wyatt’s most recent incarnation – hasn’t wrestled an official match since the Royal Rumble in 2012, but he admitted there is a huge sense of pride when he sees the impact his own creepy alter egos had on The Fiend character.
He added: ‘Yeah, I am very proud, very happy every time I see him doing the Mandible Claw, a move I made popular. I love it, I love the fact that he’s doing it.
‘I like to think there was a young Bray Wyatt taking in the things I was doing as Mankind and Cactus Jack and turning it into his own.’
