Warning: spoilers ahead for The Handmaid’s Tale season 4 episode 7

The Handmaid’s Tale viewers were left astonished by Elisabeth Moss’s stellar performance with Yvonne Strahovski in the latest episode, as June Osborne was finally granted the opportunity to unleash her fury on Serena Joy.

In season 4 episode 7 of The Handmaid’s Tale, June (Elisabeth) is gradually trying to adjust to her new life in Canada, having been reunited with her husband Luke (O-T Fagbenle) and best friend Moira Strand (Samira Wiley).

June is permitted to pay a visit to Serena, who is pregnant and currently being held by the authorities in Canada along with her husband, Fred Waterford (Joseph Fiennes).

As June enters the room where Serena is staying, her former captor says that she ‘prayed’ she would have a chance to see June, as she believes ‘the lord’ brought June to her so she could ‘make amends’.

June wastes no time in telling Serena exactly how she feels, stating: ‘I brought myself here so that I could tell you how much I hate you. You don’t deserve to make amends to anyone. The only thing that you deserve is a life full of suffering and shame.’

June continues, twisting the knife by saying: ‘You have destroyed my life, my family, my friends, my country, and my child. There is no one less worthy of redemption than you.’

Having begun to tear up over June’s words, Serena drops to her knees, begging June to forgive her.

However, June has no intention on either forgiving or comforting Serena, seething as she bends down and horrifyingly states: ‘Do you know why God made you pregnant? So that when he kills that baby inside your womb you will feel a fraction of the pain that you caused us when you tore our children from our arms. Do you understand me?’

June grips Serena’s face, screaming, ‘Do you understand me?!’ one more time as Serena’s tears flow.
